Simply put, if the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) believes a company can’t operate a well safely, we won’t grant it a licence.
This week, the AER made good on that commitment by denying Bashaw Oil Corp.’s applications to drill three critical sour oil wells near Rocky Rapids in west-central Alberta. The decision followed an AER hearing held last December.

The AER made good on what commitment? Bashaw Oil Corp. no longer exists, they amalgamated with Clearview, much like what Angle Energy did with Bellatrix, when they were discovered to be operating in a highly non-compliant manner.
Clearview will apply for the same wells and likely be approved.
Will the amalgamated Clearview company carry the Bashaw Oil Corp reputation or will it be scrubbed from the record. This seems to be a shell game oil companies play to clean the past record just like being Born Again and start a new. This practice should be exposed for what it is.
