Resource is brought to you by the Alberta Energy Regulator.
Alberta - June 10, 2019

Alberta’s energy reserves are among the world’s largest and include bitumen, crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and coal.

Every year, the AER releases a comprehensive report known as ST98: Alberta’s Energy Reserves and Supply/Demand Outlook. It provides decision-makers and economists with insights into our diverse energy resources, including how they are produced and how they are used. With a new name—ST98: Alberta Energy Outlook—more interactive charts, and plain language that makes this data easier to understand, this report is now online.

AER staff pour over hundreds of data sources and use economic and reserve models to crunch the numbers in Alberta Energy Outlook: highlights from 2017-18 and projections up to the year 2028.

These are the major takeaways identified in this year’s report.
